Everything you need to know about the reopening of Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is reopening from Wednesday 15th July 2020 following a 4 month closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Whilst it will be great to be back, everything may not be exactly as you remember it. Here is all the latest information regarding the reopening:

Reopening period

When does Disneyland Paris reopen?

Disneyland Paris reopens Wednesday 15th July 2020, Annual Pass previews will take place on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th July 2020, these will be inaccessible to the general ticket holding public.

Will there be limits on attendance?

Yes, during the phased reopening Disneyland Paris will have a strict daily cap on guest numbers. This will be managed by an online reservation system.

Do I need to reserve my place at the Disneyland Paris parks?

This depends on your circumstances.

  • If you have an annual pass or open dated ticket, you will need to reserve your attendance via the online reservation platform.
  • If you have a dated ticket or a holiday package including hotel and park tickets, then your places in the parks are guaranteed.

Will everything be open?

Almost everything will be open. A few attractions will be closed for regular maintenance work, some restaurants may have a closed weekday per week but the vast majority of attractions and restaurants will be open as normal.

The big exception are shows, initially there will be no shows and parades. This includes Disney Illuminations which will not be running.

Can I meet Disney Characters?

Yes, in new ways. These will take the form primarily of selfie spots where you will meet characters at a safe distance.

Health and Safety measures

Will I have do undertake social distancing in the resort?

Yes, in France the Social Distancing requirement is 1 metre. This will be enforced in all areas of the resort.

Do I have to wear a face mask?

All guests over the age of 11 will need to wear a face mask, except whilst eating.

What about sanitising stations, such as hand gels?

Disneyland Paris has created over 2,000 hand sanitiser stations including at the entrance and exit to each shop and restaurant, at various points in attraction queues (entry, loading, unloading). Increased cleaning will take place around the resort, particularly in high touch areas.

Will temperature checks take place?

No, guests will not have to undertake temperature checks in order to gain access to the resort. Instead, guests are asked to self-test at home prior to their visit to the resort. If you have Covid-19 symptoms, do not come to Disneyland Paris.

Disney Hotels

Will all Disney Hotels and resorts be reopening on July 15th?

No, only Disney’s Newport Bay Club will re-open on July 15th. Villages Nature, which is not technically a Disney hotel, reopened on June 22nd.

What if my hotel is closed on my arrival date?

All guests, except Disneyland Hotel: You’ll be in the next best available hotel, and you’ll always move upwards.

Guests of the Disneyland Hotel will be placed in Disney’s Newport Bay Club. You’ll receive a refund for the difference in rate.

Can I cancel my trip?

Yes, all Disney Resort bookings are fully cancellable, without fee, up to 7 days prior to arrival.

Is my park attendance guaranteed?

This depends on how you booked your hotel:

Will all the facilities be open?

Most of the Disney hotel facilities will be open. You should check with your Disney hotel as some facilities may close due to health and safety concerns.

Dated tickets

How can I get a dated ticket to Disneyland Paris?

Disney have created a new dated ticket system, these tickets guarantee access to the Disney Parks. You can buy them on the Disneyland Paris website (affiliate link).

Annual Passes

What happened to my annual pass expiry date?

You have been given 123 days added to your annual pass to reflect the closure period. An additional 30 days has also been granted to thank passholders for their patience during this reopening period.

How can I find my new expiry date?

The new Annual Pass portal displays your expiry date.

Do I have to reserve my place in the parks?

Yes, you must reserve your park attendance on the reservation system.

Can I get a pass refund?

No, this is not possible at Disneyland Paris.

What happens to my Annual Photopass+

The expiry dates on these have also been extended.

What about Annual Pass friends tickets

You cannot buy these on the gates of Disneyland Paris. You will need phone Disneyland Paris (a minimum of 15 days before your visit) to reserve these tickets. They will be shipped to you by mail.

Disability Passes

How do carer tickets work during the reopening period?

The person needing a carer need to follow the park reservation system (if applicable) to reserve their attendance at the resort. As long as you have a reservation, you do not need one for your carer. Once at the resort, please visit the guest relations window to claim your free carer ticket.

Do green and orange passes operate during the reopening period?

Yes, these are operating as normal.

Registering for Park Attendance

What is the park reservation system?

In order to guarantee your admission at Disneyland Paris, you must reserve your attendance at Disneyland Paris.

How does the system work?

It’s actually very easy:

  1. Visit the Disneyland Paris Park Reservation website
  2. Sign in to your Disney Account, you can make one here if you do not have one.
  3. Link your ticket or Annual Pass using the serial number.
  4. Then simply select the dates you wish to attend. You will receive a confirmation email.
  5. Present the QR code at the park entrance to gain admission.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you must cancel prior to 10am on the day of your scheduled visit.

If you fail to cancel, or turn up to your booking, you will be blocked out of the system with reservations cancelled for the next 14 days.

How many bookings can I have?

It seems that you can have unlimited bookings, as long as your pass is not blocked out.

Disneyland Paris Pride

This will return on 12th June 2021.

This will be postponed until September 2021.
