Disney extends the Global Ambassador teams into 2021

Due to the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, Disney has taken the decision to extend the terms of 2019/2020 ambassador teams worldwide to ensure that a proper recruitment process can take place for future ambassadors.

Disneyland Paris has confirmed that Giona will be continuing as ambassador through 2021, whilst Joana will be leaving the company shortly to pursue new adventures.

The extension of Giona is undoubtedly great news for Disneyland Paris fans as he has been a shining light at the resort, as has Joana, and has fulfilled his role with wonderful spirit.

Commenting on the news, Disneyland Paris said:

After serving as a Disneyland Paris Ambassador since January 1st, 2019, Joana Afonso Santiago will pursue new adventures in her personal life and career outside of Disneyland Paris starting this summer. We are so proud of her contribution to the role and how she partnered with Giona to represent Disneyland Paris and its talents. We thank her for her commitment and engagement to drive the Ambassador Program and wish her the best for her new adventures. She will always remain a part of the Disney Ambassador family.

[…] We are delighted to have Giona continue to serve as Disneyland Paris Ambassador during the extension of the global program until Jan. 1, 2022 and keep on representing the spirit of Disney. It is sad that the Paris ambassador team will be broken up, Joana was also such a warm and welcoming ambassador who we will all miss.

This is good news all round as the 2019/20 ambassador teams have been some of the best we’ve seen in recent years; it is hard to remember a more solid global team.
