Located in the heart of the magic, the 5 star Disneyland Hotel has long been the stuff of dreams for Disney fans across the world. It is the most iconic and recognisable hotel in Disneyland Paris and features a large number of spacious rooms spread across three wings with 5 star service.
As part of the InsidEars Disney Hotels and Resorts Discovery Weekend, DLP Town Square was invited to take a look around the hotel in great detail, including an extra special visit up to the Castle Club. Let’s take a look around the hotel and discover what makes the Disneyland Hotel so unique and desired.
The Disneyland Hotel Rooms
There are several different types of rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, these range from Classic Rooms, Classic Family Rooms and, of course the legendary Castle Club. A number of these rooms do conjoin and so it is possible for larger guest group sizes to effectively share a room.
The Classic Rooms contain two double beds, spacious bathroom and amenities such as a Nespresso machine, mini-bar and television. As you may know, many of the details in the Disneyland Hotel have been inspired by Classic Disney films such as Fantasia, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan and Snow White.
As you look around the room, you’ll see these details quite clearly in almost every furnishing of the room. Perhaps the two most impressive are the TV cabinet with its diorama of Peter Pan and Neverland, and of course the beautiful head boards which depict our very own Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant.
The family rooms are almost identical of a standard Classic room with a few minor modifications. The most notable is that the room has been adapted, and expanded, somewhat to sleep more people.
A perhaps lesser known bonus of the Disneyland Hotel Classic Rooms on the ground floor is that some rooms do feature a delightful garden area. Perfect for those who may want to sit back and relax during their stay – or to just top up your tan. Important note, the terrace area is private to your room, however the green garden area is shared amongst a small number of rooms.
A sneak peak of the Castle Club
Like all the upper level Disneyland Paris hotels, the Disneyland Hotel features it’s own club level – here it is known as the Castle Club. The Castle Club features 50 rooms and 12 suites, including the well-known suites such as Walt’s Appartment, the Tinkbell Suite, Cinderella Suite and the Sleeping Beauty Suite. There are also special amenities such as a dedicated check-in, lounge and a character breakfast (the only place you will find a character breakfast in any of the Disney hotels).
The Castle Club lounge faces onto Main Street USA and serves breakfast in the morning – as well as a drinks service until 10:30 at night. Soft and hot drinks are included in the price of a Castle Club Rooms, an upcharge can be paid if you wish to take an alcoholic beverage.
The exclusive Founders Club Restaurant is also on the Castle Club level of the Disneyland Hotel. This room, originally dedicated to the founding partners of the resort, now plays host to a delightful restaurant and features various culinary experiences such as the Petit Jean in 2018.
Walking up to the fourth floor of the Castle Club, we were treated to a sneak peak in the Tinkerbell suite. As you may imagine, this Suite is themed to the Peter Pan character, Tinkerbell. Little details are everywhere in the room adding a touch of class to the setting. The suite features a dedicated living room space, bedroom and walk through bathroom featuring both shower AND bath.
The views from the suite are unrivalled, with a balcony that looks out onto Fantasia Gardens. The view is certainly unique, where else can you stand on a balcony and get a 4th floor overview of the iconic entrance to Disneyland Park?
Hotel Amenities
As with all Disney hotels, a bar and shop are included inside the hotel. You can also take advantage of the Disney Shopping Service which sends your purchases from around the resort to your hotel.
The Disneyland Hotel does feature a few unique features: its pool is in a wonderful conservatory and has a gym and spa just next door. Then is the obvious bonus, being so close to the Disney Paris means that you can very quickly walk out of the park and into your room (depending on room location, this can even be under 1 minute!)
A taste of luxury with additional magic touches
Details in the Disneyland Hotel are not just limited to the rooms of course. Throughout the hotel you will find Disney Parks details from around the world, such as concept arts, posters and more. Keep an eye out for the clocks as you wander the corridors – they’re not wrong, they are just synced to the different Disney Parks time zones, a fun little nod to these far-flung places of adventure that we dream of visiting.
The Disneyland Hotel is ideally suited to those who want a little bit of luxury during their stay, or those who want to be as close to the park as possible. With many different room sizes, classes and configuration you’re bound to find a room that suits your requirements.
