In its effort to become an increasingly sustainable resort, Disneyland Paris is due to eliminate single-use plastics this Earth Month; notably by replacing plastic straws with paper alternatives, and changing plastic bags to a more re-usable design.
The new range of straws will begin circulation in the resort on 18th April 2019, the new design is 100% biodegradable and is both of a good quality and durable.
Then, the following week, single-use plastic bags will be replaced by a new reusable plastic design featuring motifs similar to the US park designs – with the castle on one side and 4 images representing the resort on the other (Mickey Mouse, Space Mountain, “it’s a small world”, the Earfel Tower and Hollywood Tower Hotel).
These bags will come in three different sizes – small, medium and large, and will be priced at €1 for the small bag, €2 for the medium and large bags.
In the Disneyland Paris hotels, the single-use plastic toiletries have also been replaced by refillable models. Guests will be pleased to note that the popular Mickey ears toppers have not completely been removed from the hotels, it will be there on selected toiletries with new bottles created from recycled plastics.
Stay tuned on Earth Day, Monday 22nd April, for a full report on how Disneyland Paris is working on protecting the environment each and every day.
