Located at Disney’s Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel, the Manhattan Restaurant is Disney’s take on a Italian/American concept table service restaurant. The decor inside the dining room is very Marvel-lite, but does feature a gorgeous chandelier inspired by the golden towers of Asgard.
The menu of this restaurant features a set menu (also on the Disneyland Paris meal vouchers scheme) as well as à la carte options. I opted to take the set menu and added the wine pairing for an additional €20.
Starters: Parma Ham
For my starter, I took the Parma Ham which was accompanied by the Moderna-style flatbread and fruit mustard. This was a perfectly fine starter with a good quality Parma Ham. The bread was a little dry for my taste but fortunately, the restaurant also provided a Rosemary Focaccia which was a far better accompaniment. The fruit mustard was not to my taste, but I am not a mustard fan and so I did not expect it to be something I enjoyed.
I would quite happily order this again as it was a light way to start the meal.
Main Course: Lasagna alla Bolognese
For my Main Course, I opted for the Lasagna alla Bolognese. This was a very filling portion made with absolutely delicious, fresh-tasting, sheets of lasagna. The beef mince was light but tasty, as was the sauce. All the better, this was not a heavy tasting dish, everything worked nicely together and all the flavours popped.
This dish was delightful and I was left happy and in a good mood having completed it.
Dessert: Tiramisu
This classic Italian dish is a staple of pretty much every Italian restaurant across the world: the Tiramisu. The Manhattan Restaurant Tiramisu is pretty standard and does not try to do anything particularly special, yet here it is, succeeding as a good Tiramisu. I didn’t feel any overarching thoughts towards this dessert, it felt tasty and well-balanced. It was nice, but I think I’ll gravitate to something else on the menu for the next time.
Wine Pairing
For an additional €20 on the set menu, you can pair your three courses with three wines. Each pairing consists of one white and one red wine. The three wines I selected each tasted very good and went nicely with the dishes. The sweet sparkling dessert wine was worth a try for something a bit different from the usual Prosecco. The wines you select should reflect your mains, your waiter will help you to make the selections if you are unsure.
A delightful meal at an expectedly good price
Disney’s Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel is currently the highest-rated hotel on Disneyland Paris property and the three-course meal with wines will set you €69 (unless you are on a meal plan, then the base meal is included and you can top up with the wines). The annual Pass discount is applicable on the food portion of the meal (€49) but not the wines (an additional €20).
I found the meal to be exceptional value for money, the room itself feels premium, as does the service. And the cherry on the cake is that the food is good! I will certainly be back for more.
You can find out more about the Manhattan Restaurant on the Disneyland Paris website. Reservations can be made 60 days out on the Disneyland Paris app. Some tables are reserved for guests staying within the hotel.
